When it’s scary…..click

Walk the dogs, go to the gym, take a shower, pick up a Friend of Retrievers donation, meet the AC repairman…

OKAY!

Now I can go to the studio!  Yep, it was noon before I got there today and I got this crazy idea to photograph my painting each time it was “scary”.  That is, when I was pretty sure I was on the brink of disaster.  It was a good way to keep my sense of humor today!  So, this was my first shot.  I realized I should have added a layer of clear medium before proceeding with the rivets…but too late.  In this photo, I’m about to use my single edge blade to scrape away the excess wax and the layer is quite thin in places.  Scary stuff.

Here, the rivets worked and I even managed to put shadows below them.  Yes, I was pushing my luck.  I finally added that layer of medium then kept working.  I sort of like how the piece looks at this point.  Sometimes I wish I could leave things where they are…unfinished.  Here, I felt slightly out of control and it was…well..scary.  Click.

My final shot wasn’t scary.  Just my final shot. I wanted to keep working but Mark arrived with Jelly and Misty and they were demanding attention.  It was time to help with the studio yard and wind things up for the day.  PLEASE, I want a whole day in the studio tomorrow!!
