Preparing for an exhibition

I’m working the night shift again at the studio and it feels like old times! I’m not traveling on the art fair circuit this year, so I haven’t had deadline pressure. I’m delivering thirty pieces to the Carnegie Visual Arts Center on Monday — so I’m framing, cleaning, labeling, and creating an inventory list.
Stacking paintings by the door till 10pm took me back. I missed the furious schedule of traveling to ten to twenty art fairs a year. I even missed the road - I enjoyed the freedom. It was hard work and I traveled on a tight schedule, but it was a way to check out! Driving across America, literally, was hard to beat.
My new art life is definitely right. I have less pressure to produce and more energy for learning new things. Traveling took everything I had and now animal rescue is my biggest distraction — but a very good distraction.
I guess ONE of the secrets to contentment is know when to do what in life.
