A Multipurpose Life

The studio is doing double duty this week….and I’m very proud!  The rescue group I’m working with, Friends of Retrievers Rescue Inc, is having a HUGE yard sale and my studio is hosting the event.  We’ll be set up on Friday and Saturday from 7am - 2pm along Oakwood Avenue and my place has been the collection point for donations.  Actually, this photo is a week old — the donations are stacked TO THE CEILING now and we’ve been cleaning, organizing, and pricing all week.

Yes, the cats are having a blast!  This is more fun than they’ve had since I added on the screened porch (screen closet….let’s be honest).  The boys are exploring and Carm is the Queen of the Clothing Pile.

As always, I encourage everyone to support animal rescue and spay/neuter programs in your city.  My group is www.FORrescue.net and I personally am fostering small dogs, under 20 lbs.  There are so many ways to help homeless and suffering animals.  Donating to your local Spay/Neuter Clinic should be at the top of the list and your donation of time is needed as well — donations of little bits of time are valuable to rescuers.  If you can write thank you notes, transport animals once a week from the vets office or even from one town to another, help organize a fund raising event, or allow a dog or cat to hang out at your house for a few days.  Whatever you personally enjoy or are capable of doing, it WILL be valued by an animal rescue group.  Find a group that has the same values you do, and get involved!

It is the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done and you’ll meet some of the kindest and most caring people you’ve ever met.  I highly recommend it!
