On the cork board
I clipped this one to the board yesterday.  There are always more than could be done but then too much is the worst.  I may darken a few areas for emphasis but this one is basically finished.  I think I need a bit of shadow cast over the flowers, now that I see it on my computer monitor.  And more form on the column. And a stronger shadow on the interior side of the door…. Being objective...

A matter of values
This one is starting to be fun.  I’ve been building values, pulling things forward and pushing other things back.  I won’t be ready for detail for a while yet.  It amazes me how satisfying color can be.  I think I breathe deeper when I’m pushing a cerulean against a deep violet or dropping red into a pool of warm yellow.  Really, I think that is where home is for me.
